A work story...

So it's been awhile since I've shared a fun work story with everyone...  I think today should be that day! 

I work in the kids section and today a little girl was there with her dad just shopping around to find a present for her mom.  The dad picked out the book he wanted and then made the mistake of having a peek in the kids section.  While there, the little girl saw a book with a necklace that she just KNEW Mom HAD to have!!!  She kept telling dad over and over and over how much her mom needed it!  It really sounded like a life or death situation.  I almost wanted to run over and give the girl some money so she could get this for her mom!

Now I've worked in this section since last October or November, and you'd be surprised how many kids get what the want after enough begging.  (Well maybe you wouldn't, but I always am.)  I thought for sure this little girl was going to be win this arguement...  But kudos to dad.  The little girl had to put the book away, with promises that it would make a very nice birthday present for her when her birthday came along.  I'm sure the little girl won't remember... she probably forgot about it before she even made it home, but I sure hope dad doesn't. 

Kids!  What can you do?!?  :)

My wonderful friend Jaime had this video on her blog yesterday... and I LOVE it!  So I'm stealing it from her and sharing it with you.  (Hope that's oK Jaims???)  It's the lovely Michael Buble and I'm going to make it my theme song right now... cause everyone needs a song that goes with their life at that time that they can sing over and over and over!  (And one which will hopefully help me to not write anymore run-on sentances!!!)  :)

Bachelor I love you... Jake I do not!

For a few years now, Monday's have been great nights due to a little show called "The Bachelor" (or sometimes "The Bachelorette")  I know it's not real and it's not the least bit romantic to me... it's simple the greatest show because it's SO nuts!  The people on it are CRAZY and the drama is just that... DRAMA!  And while there have been quite a few who aren't all there on the show, I'm usually a fan of the main person along with a few of the contestants.  This time though....  Not so much.

Jake is a doofus.  There is no other way to put it.  From "Bachelorette" last year, I already knew he was a doofus, and I was pretty hesitant to even watch this season because of him.  I knew he would be so lame... and I was right.  BUT!  This is what makes the show so lovely!!!  It gives us something to yell at the TV about and a reason to call someone names.  Someone very lovely left the show today (I won't say who incase you haven't watched it yet, but are going to) and I'm actually happy for her.  I'm glad when they are all leaving because they are all TOO DARN GOOD FOR HIM!!!  He says he didn't date much in highschool, and even with that ripped stomach... we can see why.  Now who am I to talk, being single at this age myself... but I hope (fingers crossed) I don't act quite like that. 

I'm sure he's lovely and the show edits it not the best they should...but again, I've always loved the past Bachelor and Bachelorettes.... hmmmmm....

Chinese New Year's Resolution

Happy New Year!!!  I wish I knew how to write that in Chinese...  I have a friend at the bookstore who does know Chinese.  I'll ask her and get it on here. 

I've decided that it's a new year, and so I'm going to make a resolution... to get back to blogging.  For awhile there I got busy with some projects and this and that... and then, I just got out of habit.  So here I am.  They say it takes 28 days to get back into a habit.  Let's see if I can do it.  I mean... I CAN DO IT! 

So while I sit here with Kitty passed out by the radiator and watching "While You Were Sleeping" (one of the greatest movies EVER!) I again wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!  and hope you have a great year to come.
